Referrals the Life Blood of any Business
There are a few very important aspects to any multi-level marketing venture and one of them is that you need to learn the art of getting a referral. Of course, this is true for any business when it is a traditional business or an online networking business. The starting place for this is to learn to tap into your current customer base for referrals. Sift out who your best customers are in your data base and then pursue them to get some referrals. They will probably be best place to begin as they more than likely really like your service or product or they wouldn't repeatedly buy it from you. A happy customer is a great starting point to ask and get those referrals. Since referrals are critical to most businesses, why not start at the easiest place. In your network marketing venture, there will be no one as motivated and concerned as you the business owner to get this done.
After getting the referral, the next step will be to thank your customers for the referral and his/her patronage. For many customers, a simple thank you can go a long way and often ensure that they will give you more referrals. They might even be willing to go so far as to set up an appointment with the person or company they are referring. Most customers would be willing to do this for you.
If it is not possible for your customer to set up the appointment, you may simply want to ask for their information and do it yourself. This is the second best option but it also works. Also, it is a good idea to give your customer a small gift as a thank you as well for making that referral. A thank you gift and multiply future referral for you since you are showing the customer that he/she is very valued.
A further way to get referrals is to begin and create some relationships and alliances with businesses who are not in the same industry as you. That ensures that they will not be your competition. If you have a reciprocal agreement that you will give them referrals if they give you the same, it can be very beneficial for you. Today there are a large number of organizations in every city who do just that. This is also true in the online business community.
Finally, you might consider getting involved with some non profit organizations such as you local church or charity. Not only can this be a place of service for you to give back to the community, but it can also be a place where you can gain influence and where people may want your product or service. In the networking industry this can also be a good place to find future business partners.
In any network marketing business, the most basic requirement in order to achieve success is the commitment and persistence of the business owner. It is this commitment and persistence that will determine how you will overcome the obstacles that are sure to come your way. Do this and you will become the best spokesman for your network marketing business and success is sure to be just around the corner.
